A. Purpose
To accomplish the responsibilities as stated below regarding the integrity of current and stored data for the University.
B. Responsibilities
1) to review University data policy and procedures in relation to the Rules of the Board of Supervisors for State Colleges and Universities and the Board of Regents;
2) to review current University data practices;
3) to review the policy and procedure in reference to the release of data that may be considered to have a high impact on the status of the University;
4) to provide recommendations regarding the university's implementation of policy and procedures that may effect the use data;
5) to work collaboratively, when necessary, with the University's records officer, and;
6) to serve as the reviewing committee and provide recommendations for those respective areas that are considered custodians or high volume users of data.

Other members of the University community may be invited to attend meetings and contribute ideas as issues arise.
D. Meeting Procedures
1) Meeting of the council shall be regularly scheduled on the fourth Wednesday of each month (other accommodations will be made in the event of a holiday). A meeting may also be convened at the request of the President, Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provist, or Director of Enrollment Management.
2) In the event it is necessary that an issue requires an approval vote from the council a quorum must be present to qualify the vote as official. For this council, a quorum is defined as five (5) members.
